So what did we do this week?
Math
We've been focusing on fractions! To understand fractions, we've been using concrete materials and pictures to find different ways to describe the same fractional part of one whole. We've also been using area models to visualize and name equivalent fractions. Additionally, we're beginning to explore strategies for comparing fractions with the same whole!
We had to practice solving for the area of flat shapes a bit more this week, in order to be more proficient using the strategies that help solve for the area!
Reading
We're in the middle of reading James and the Giant Peach, and we're using the text to practice making inferences that make sense!
Writing
We've been revising our animal research guidebooks, and penned a conclusion!
