Howdy Folks!
This is what we did this past week!
Math
we used decomposing and regrouping to convert mixed numbers into common fractions and vice versa!
We used comparison model to solve addition and multiplication word problems. We also learned that keywords, such as more and times, clues us in on which operation to use! On top of that, we utilized the CUBES strategy to hone our analysis of said word problem!
Reader's Workshop
We practiced considering what is an important scene in the book, and connected the importance of said scene to the story as a whole. Lots of inferring, supporting the inference with textual evidence, and explaining how it all connects!
Writer's Workshop
We continued to go through multiple rounds of revising and editing our drafts on our own, and then with a check peer, so that our narratives are ready to be published! During one of our revision/editing sessions we practiced rehearsing our stories out loud with vigor, and noticing additional edits and revisions we needed to make!
Science
We took notes on this particular inquiry question: Why can't we eat desserts all the time?
And that's a wrap folks! Cheers!
