What We Did....

 Hi Folks!

Here's what we've been up to the past couple of days...

Reader's Workshop

 in the scene in Rollergirl ,Their mom is taking  Ashley and Nicole to a Roller derby game.  and while they are watching the game Nicole is  looking afraid. Nicole is looking afraid because everybody is just Bumping into each other.So it looked violent.

 After that Ashley tells Nicole you can be a baby sometimes. then on the look of her face she looked like she was really hurt by it.

 But in the very beginning of the book, Ashley was at the park  putting on  roller skates.Then two girls  showed up there, a girl said the park was for babies and one of the girls was Nicole who wanted to go to the park .Ashley Nicole were friends but she said that after fifth grade they weren't friends anymore and I'm for that since she was  putting on roller skates and that she wants to be part of a roller derby team that's why Nicole  and Ashley aren't friends anymore.

If i were in  nicole's shoes ,i would be hurt but not that much.But i would support ashley instead of not being friends with her (my inference) .

Mary Ann is anxious and insecure because she keeps thinking if this would happen or something else for example if Logan is not home but she was shaking her hand so much that means that she is trying to have the confidence to grab the phone. Another reason is once she called him she thought everything was going to go fine but it went the opposite way. She was thinking that he would say yes to join the baby sitters club but when she was about to finish her sentence he interrupted her and said I decided not to join the babysitters club. Back at the B.S.C meeting they were deciding who to call Logan and that was Mary Ann but she didn’t want to call Logan in front of her friends because her friends would laugh at her and she is shy. They arrive at Charlotte's place to babysitters club and they start reading a book and then Stacey says that it is about Mary Ann’s birthday so they planned her birthday surprise a little. And Jessi is an awesome babysitter because she made her sibling go to sleep when he had been crying for days                                   One embarrassing scene was when Logan and Mary Ann were dancing. Mary Ann’s shoe flew off of Mary Ann’s foot and it smacked a teacher in the face.And the whole crowd was looking at Mary Ann which Mary Ann doesn’t like getting the center of attention. .

 In the book BSC, they start to get M.A for the dance then dad drops her and her friends off them  Logan gives a flower to M.A. They start to dance then her she flew off her foot and hit a teacher in the face.She go to the bathroom b/c she thinks they will laugh that is why she is in the bathroom.

    M.A is felling up set because she hit a teacher in the face with her shoe if l did that l would be not upset but l would just want my shoe back. To tell you further the bathroom could be some where you could com down.

     If l were in the shoe of M.A the funny thing is she only got one shoe on l would just say sorry to the teacher.To further tell you  l would just go say sorry instead of sitting in the bath room l would not be a scard   of the teacher that is why l would say sorry.

 In this scene Mary Ann is getting greedy for the dance with all of the Baby Sitters Club. When she gets there it is so crowded and we know from the backstory she doesn't like big crowds. Then in the gym Logan and Mary Ann start to dance and then her shoe falls off and she feels like the center of attention and she also does not like that.

She feels like the center of attention because not only her shoe flew off but it hit a teacher in the face. When it flew off Mary Ann and Logan just stared at it in like aw it was kinda weird. So then she ran into the bathroom and started to cry, but then she realized that she can’t stay in there forever and that someone would come in to talk to her about it and to boost her confidence.

I would feel kinda like this because if I were just trying to have fun with my “date” and something happens like what happened to Mary Ann then I would feel embarrassed too. I would feel embarrassed  because I was trying to have fun but then my shoe fell off and then if I saw my friends talking I would think that they were laughing at me.

In the scene when they are in school in new kid Mrs.Rawle is having a secret Santa but drew stood up and said a shocking comment when drew said  Something about financial aid for kids that can’t afford the 10$  PURCHASE!

The teacher is Shock After drew said that because he is bringing up poor people that are on financial aid and can’t buy anything. To explain more Like kids that are rich and have like   million dollars and ten bucks isn’t that much but ten dollars for poor people can be a cost for Breakfast lunch and dinner.

 If I was in the teachers shoes I will be shocked that I will send him to detention or if I was a prison worker  to solitary confinement lol.

If I said that I will be so embarrassed because what happened?

In the story “The New Kid”, everyone had a good T .G break (they mostly did skiing or snowboarding) and Drew and Jordan didn’t want to hear and they wanted to go home. Then Mrs. Rawle said that they’re doing “ Secret Santas” but Drew said that people with F.A because they don’t have enough money to participate. 

          When Mrs. Rawle heard what Drew said she SHOOK, and Jordan also shook nervously but the bell rang and Jordan heaved the side of relief. My inference is that Jordan, like Mary Anne from BSC, doesn’t like being the center of attention. To further explain,  when the teacher says, “Financial aid” he looks very nervous b/c he’s black, and mostly blacks have financial aid b/c they're kinda underpaid. So they don’t have enough side money to buy stuff. And when the teacher says F.A, he feels like the center of attention. 

          If I were in Jordan shoes, I would feel kinda nervous. To further explain, I kinda don’t like being the center of attention b/c it kinda makes me nervous. If I was in the center of attention, everyone would be focused on me. So I’d be kinda famous. But there’s obviously a downside. I get nervous and embarrassed when everyone’s attention is on me. So not only everyone’s attention is on me, I also get nervous in the process. So this is why I kinda don’t like being in the center of attention.

in the story, New Kid, Mrs. Rawle is doing a secret Santa, but Drew stood up and asked about the kids that have financial aids, also the ones that can't afford the 10$ purchase.

          Mrs. Rawle was shaken after this comment. Mrs. Rawle had not thought about it. That is why she is acting a little racist. Because she has had these kids in her class for months now and the fact that she can not even remember some kids were here on financial aids is just rude.

          Jorden just stood out of it and I'm inferring that he doesn't like being the center of attention just like me! I feel like it’s awkward because I just don’t like being stared at. On the other hand drew likes to be the center of attention (not to brag) cause he likes to point out how unfair everything is to blacks of colored people.( there lol )

Social Studies

WE CONTROL OUR LIVES! the Spaniards should not be able to control our lives, we must fight for our lives. Do you want to see people barf? No! I didn't think, do you want to be forced to practice a different language? NO! I thought so. We must have freedom or else our lives will suck and we will live in eternal slavery. “I have a dream today” that we will get revenge. WE SHALL BREAK FREE! We need to break free b/c imagine the countryside before the missions and controlling your own lives, yeah i see you smiling, we should REVOLT!

One reason we should revolt is because we are continuously forced to pray, do you want that? NO! I didn’t think so, do you want to not wan to be able to use our language and forced to use this weird idiotic language? NO! Do you want to get whipped if we speak one word of our own language? NO! Do you want to have our culture taken away? NO! So you see, you said it yourself. fight or we shall never have peace nor shall we ever have fun. REVOLT!

Another reason we should revolt is that they are destroying and killing our land. Do you see any cows or deers and animals huh? NO! I expected so, do you see any wild fruits and vegetables growing? NO! Yeah. They are destroying our land, we need to revolt. Just imagine a country side and seeing wild animals roam and seeing wild crops grow. Yeah i have eyes I see you smiling and looking happy we shall REVOLT!

We should also revolt because they are killing us by this weird “curse” also known as smallpox. Don’t you feel like you're “dazed and confused for so long it’s not true.” also don’t you feel like you're “so sick and tired and i was going in pain” Do you want to have high fevers and feel like blowing up like a volcano? NO! Sorry what was that NO! Good, I need to say more. Do you want to be super tired to your already aching body from working all day? NO! Huh oh yeah did you hear yourself? YES! I know, now do you want to have headaches and practically having to sit down even when you can’t huh? NO! We need to REVOLT MY PEOPLE!'

My people, do you see your marks on your arms and backs? Yes! Do you know what that is from, whipping do you want to get whipped? NO! Mm mm good answer, now do you want to get whipped if we just want to step outside for 30 seconds? NO! Good enthusiasm! Do you want to get whipped for accidentally dropping a spoon for crying out loud? No what was that? NO! Good, now my people do you want to get whipped for sitting down for a minute? NO! Mm mm oh really good answer and now my people you said it yourself REVOLT!

So my people you see what these weird outsiders are doing to us, they are continually working us. They are whipping us if we make a tiny mistake, what the flip. They are also forcing us to pray, can’t they say that we don’t want to. They're idiots. They don’t know how to tell what berries are poison or not. They’re complete idiots. We need to revolt! Join me in the chant! RE-VOLT! RE-VOLT! RE-VOLT!

“GO TO WORK” is all they say, my people, do you enjoy working from sunrise to sundown? Never! That's right! ... Do you enjoy not seeing your loved ones for multiple years?... No! I thought so… Just look at your backs, do you see all those marks from getting whipped by the smallest things? Right now is the time to revolt and fight back we won’t stop until we get freedom and rights as humans.

“The outsiders curse” (smallpox)

“What is killing my people”? How come such a quantity is dying you ask, Well it is the outsider curse, they have been killing us and it has to stop! We must stop this outrageous disease right now or never. This is smallpox the symptoms may not be seen but they are: high fever, fatigue and headaches, after 2-3 day it won’t look good, a flat red rash might appear, do you think we should be going through this, we all ready work for people but now we have to get sick and loose more people. It will start in one spot but by the end of the day it will be everywhere on your body and everyday when one of those bubbles pop that liquid oozes out! Nobody wants that anymore. We must find a cure or medication or we all go extinct '' If we revolt we could gp free so we could study and try to find a cure, none of us will be dying, we would get the right to show our kids how the world looks like, it is not their right to put us to work unless they would go to work too.

No more religion and tradition

“ We can’t take this anymore, anytime we do anything that has to do with our religion we Mget whipped and some of us even die, this can’t go on another day, We are made to pray for another culture, do you think that is acceptable?” “NO”... Our kids never got to experience their home religion because they were never allowed to do or see it unless it is the European way. Everybody gets so annoyed it feels like there is a volcano erupting in your body! This must stop. We need to fight back. They went too far and it is the writing time to earn our human rights back.”

Whip and abuse

“OUCH OOH! That is the cry we hear everyday when we do the smallest offensives like dropping your spoon or even accidentally calling somebody their original name. People get whipped many times a day, it is out of hand. Seeing your loved ones get hurt and murdered is very bad for your mental health and that is how we get stressed in these times.” “ Imagine being a kid watching your parents or best friend get whipped or die. REVOLT REVOLT I hear you, this is the enthusiasm I want, keep on going this is gonna be the protest of our lives

They are taking our land away!

“Where is our land you ask, you are right! They are destroying it as we speak, it is our property and our right to keep it. Where are the deer? They got these no brained cows to replace them. This is one of the last reasons we should revolt but if this doesn’t work we won’t give up and it won’t look pretty. I know that if we try hard we will get our land back and let us free. I think this will work. We will keep fighting back”.

I believe that if we fight hard as a team we will get what we want. We will have our human freedom and nobody will stop us. As long as we try our hardest I know we will succeed. REVOLT REVOLT!!!

Math

Problem: A chain is 8 & 5/12 feet long. It is joined to another chain so the total length is 10 & 9/12 feet. How long is the extra piece of chain?

1. First, I need to put together my equation so I could figure out the total length of the extension chain, that is going to be the 2 fractions that are mentioned in the word problem.  To figure out the length of something I need to either put together a equation with an empty spot like this: 8 & 1/12 + _______ = 10 & 9/12 or what I am going to do, 

            10 & 9/12 - 8 & 1/12. 

1. Next I need to subtract 10 & 9/12 - 8 & 1/12.  How we do that is by subtracting the whole numbers first, a whole number is the number in front of the actual fraction which tells us how many real holes there are in the fraction.  10 - 8 = 2 wholes.
2. Now I need to subtract the actual fraction. 9/12 - 1/12 = ? I should subtract the numerator, a numerator is top of a fraction which tells you how much is in the fraction.  The equation is 9 - 1 = 8.  When you put it into the fraction it will be 8/12.  
3. I now need to put the denominator under the numerator.  A denominator goes on the bottom of the fraction and tells how much is in the whole.  You never change the denominator unless you have a LCM but that is for another time.  
4. Now we need to put the answer together.  Our whole number is 2 and the fraction is  8/12.  The total answer is 2 & 8/12 
5. This is optional but I am going to simplified it, that is when you divide the number further to get a smaller fraction.  When I simplifie it I get a total of 2 & ⅔ and that is my final answer.

The total fraction with simplifying is 2 & ⅔ without simplifying is 2 & 8/12

1. When you subtract fractions, you only subtract the numerator (at the top) and not the denominator (at the bottom). The denominator tells you how many parts one whole is divided into. The numerator tells you how many of these parts you have, so if you take some parts away, only the numerator changes. In this case, they had a chain that’s 8 feet and 5/12 foot, aka 5 inches.
2. Since they added a length to the original length 8 5/12 and got 10 9/12, we will do opposite operation subtraction. Let's do the fraction part first. Subtract 5/12 from 9/12. Just do it like regular subtraction but don’t subtract the denominator. That would be 4/12 and this is the partial answer!
3. Now we know the fraction part, we will do the whole number part. Remember that in a mixed number there are 2 parts. Ok now let's get back. 10-8=2. We put the 2 parts together to get the final answer. We first worked out that we had 4/12 as the fractional part, and we got 2 wholes. Then just put it together, 2 whole feet and 4/12 a foot!
4. It would be 2 4/12 feet!

  The answer to this problem is 2 4/12. I did subtracting for this question because it’s easier to me compared to adding for this question and fractions in general.

1. First thing I did was do 10 wholes-8 wholes. I know to subtract because I can also add so you just do a switch. The whole number is how many 12/12 you do. This is just like doing 10-8. So we know that it's two because it's just as simple as doing 10-8.

2. The second thing we do is do 9/12-5/12. You don’t subtract the denominator. The denominator is the one on the bottom and it shows how many go into one whole. So it's like doing 9-5 and that is 4. 

 

3. The last thing we do is add those two fractions together. So we add 2 wholes and 4/12. That is 2 4/12. This is how we got our answer. You can also do this adding, but I think it's easier subtracting.

Reader's Workshop

Mary Ann is really nervous because she is talking to her dad and she feels like it is going to be a bid flat out no but she was excited with him because he gave her cash and a yes to go with Logan. 

She is also  so excited because she gets to be herself in the mall with her friends and pick an outfit for the dance and they all help with the pick of it.

I think that she is happy with the club because they are going to miss a club meeting for her to give her some pointers for on the dance floor and with Logan.

In the scene where MA was worried at the lunch table and Kristy spoke up and gave her a suggestion, my thoughts were I was feeling surprised because Kristy doesn’t like to talk about fashion so I'm surprised that Kristy spoke up like that. If i were in MA shoes i would also be surprised b/c kristy doesn’t normally talk about fashion so i would also be surprised that kristy spoke up if i were in MA shoes.

        In the scene, Mary An was thinking of the dance that Logan asked Mary An to and messed up on her knitting because she kept on thinking, thinking, thinking and thinking so much that she messed up on her knitting and let her anxiety get to her. She was thinking, what if I mess up again and not actually talk, or maybe what if we don't talk for the whole entire 5 hours!

Mary An is feeling like this because she doesn't know what's going to happen at the dance and she picked a fantastic outfit but she still is very unsure and unsecure because I don't think that Mary An ever been to a dance before especially if she has someone to go with. For example, Logan. To further explain, Mary An is a type of person that, you know she's shy and quiet, she's a person who would keep to herself and not go to crazy, huge, party's just like the one Mary An is going to.

         If I was in Mary An's shoes my heart would be beating the fast as ever because if I never ever been in a party before of ever danced in a party I would freak out but of course I would be exited and say yippee! From my own experience, I usually stay home like most people because of the ronna, but I would love to go to a fantastic, musical, crazy looking party! First I do love dancing and going to dark, rainbow lights party's with streamers and lots of people with it isn't ronna.

Writer's Workshop

Do you want to be treated like this anymore? “ NO” I thought so . Then why don't we fight back ? We have been treated  like this for a long time. Let's fight back and get our life back . This is why we must revolt and get back freedom.Power to the people no more controlling us.

          For example do you want to risk getting smallpox .”NO”Then why don’t we just go and fight .If we got smallpox then we will risk dying and we would wonder what end if we didn’t fight back we can’t be scared we have to do it or we may not ever see the life that we used to have again.Look at yourself don’t you see all of those scars ? Look at our poor children, they have never got to experience what we got to be for the missions we got us. What about our religion ?We can’t even practice that .Who gave us this horrible disease? “MISSIONS”So why are we here?( silence) exactly we are here for no good reason the only reason we are here  is they took all of the natural resources that we used before so that we had no choice but to come here so that we could live like this.And  that is just not ok. It would be risky but we could do it if we try and try and we won’t stop trying until we succeed and get back our freedom from the missions .

            One reason we should revolt is because we haven't gone hunting in years most if us probably forgot how to and what about the generation that was born here they have never been able to do the things that we did and they might never be able to so if we want to live our lives then we need to fight back and gain back freedom for ourselves .Do you want that for your children “NO “ that is what i thought.

       Another reason is i don’t know about you but i am sick and tired of following this schedule every single day of the week.And look at your back do you want to get whipped for dropping a spoon? I don’t know about you but I don't want to , do you?”NOPE”Exactly so why are we still here? “ NO GOOD REASON”.

        The next reason is that they want us to pray 3 times a day. I mean they mean well but I think that once a day is good enough,but do we have a say on what we do on a day to day basis? “No Why ? “MISSIONS”So what should we do about it “GET BACK OUR FREEDOM”

            Do you want to be treated like this anymore? “NO”Do you want to get smallpox? “NO”We have to go back to living how we did .Our children are suffering they don't know how things were before the missions and they never will if we don’t fight back .So what are we going to do ? “FIGHT BACK AND GET BACK FREEDOM FROM THE MISSIONS” Let's go get back our freedom!

Math

The answer to 1.B is 2 holes

1. I subtracted the holes of 3 and  1 and got the sum of 2 because well it is like  common knowledge really.
2. Then I subtracted again but this time with the numbers of 1\2 and 1\2 and got 0\2 and
3. I then added the 2 and 0\2 and a hole number of 2 because if there are only 0\2 in the equation there is nothing to add up for the sum so it is one hole.

The answer is: 1  1/2

1. The word problem, " A bucket holds 3  1/2 gallons of water. 1  1/2 gallons is used for watering lettuce and 1 1/2 gallon is poured on carrets. How much water is left?" Ok, we see the numbers and fractions 3  1/2, 1  1/2 ,and 1  1/2 and we need to try and find I nice looking key word to help us make this equation because just imagine only numbers in a equation and no symbols or signs to guide us and subtract or add. To further explain, when you write out a equation there's always a symbol or sign so you would know to subtract, add, multiply, or divide. I see, in the word problem it says, used and poured which defines as subtracting, like water, or fruits and blocks. I took out my main fraction, 3  1/2 and saw the numbers 1  1/2 which was in the sentence with one of the key words, used and I also saw the numbers 1/2 which was in the sentence with the word poured. Now I know to subtract those two fractions from my main number, 3  1/2 because those two numbers have our key words. For examples, poured and used or, maybe take away, count up, and times.

2. Our numbers to subtract 3  1/2 are a little difficult to subtract from 3  1/2 because there are two numbers to subtract from. So, let's bring in some addition into this equation. Let's add up our fantastic numbers, 1  1/2 and 1/2 because it's way easier and doesn't take that much work to do. For example, I have to subtract 10-4-3.  And there's three numbers to subtract from so, would it be way easier if you only had to subtract from only two numbers? Yup why not. So then just add 4+3 and you'll have the answer to that and use the number to subtract from you're remanding number, 10 of course! We'll do that to our fractions now, 1/2+1  1/2.  1/2+1  1/2=1  2/2

3. And finally, only two numbers to subtract from, 3  1/2 and the number that we added up from., 1  2/2.  Now there's a problem here, add up the two whole numbers, 3 and 1=4 then there we have the numerator to add which makes problems because of course ya can't subtract 1/2 from 2/2 so it's regrouping time! ( singing tone) I sliced up or regrouped 3 into 1,1 and the last 1 which makes the three a whole three then I'll just make it into 2/2 which's the same thing as 1 whole. Now 3 is now a 2 because we regrouped, and now 1/2 is now the powerful,... 3/2! To further explain, I basically just added one of the 3's wholes which was magically turned into 2/2 which's the same thing as a whole was regrouped into the numerator which is now 3/2. 1/2+2/2=3/2. We now put the whole number and the fraction together, 2  3/2. 

4. I made equation, 2  3/2-1  2/2.  2  3/2-1  2/2=1  1/2

What We Did Today (Tuesday, February 9, 2021)

 Hey Folks!

Today during Writer's Workshop, we worked on revising our persuasive speeches, by taking the evidence from "boring" texts like a textbook or encyclopedia and incorporating these details, so that they are more convincing...

 "WORK" HUH!? WORK all the outsiders are making us work and they are ruining OUR LAND in return!?Taking Away OUR culture....making us pray everyday! Our knee's are sore from the endless praying!! Do you want to be working for them everyday from sunrise to sundown?! Not seeing any of your loved ones for YEARS!? Do you realize how FAR They are taking this DO YOU ENJOY THIS? Thats right....Can you IMAGINE HAVING YOUR LIFE WASTED cause all of you have been working for filthy spanish. NONE of our children will have a life that we used to have, they will have to suffer instead. And have there whole life to work. Our land was taken away and re-placed and so were the animals there cows are ruining all of the land, We cant even eat what we want, like the cows LIKE EVEN THE COWS HAVE MORE RIGHTS!!!!!

The outsiders curse (small pox)

          Do you see all the scars and bumps on your skin? Do you enjoy being tired everyday with your head sore and your forehead SO HOT!? Do you enjoy having your loved ones suffer from this CURSE?!? Thats what I thought none of you enjoy this! Do you realize how many people die everyday cause of these filthy SPANISH?!? These pieces of trash make us suffer everyday while each of them enjoy there life's, Carelessly. They treat us as if animals and not human, while they are the ones acting like trash.

We've also worked on some Reader's Workshop strategies today, focusing on sharing out our thoughts as we're listening to Babysitter's Club: Logan Likes Mary-Anne, and explaining the backstory/evidence that we're using to support what we're saying!

In the scene where Logan said I decided not to join the BSC and then he said Mary Anne I have been thinking about something else. Would you go to the Remember September dance and Mary Anne said i’d love to.

 I felt a little awkward because Mary Anne looked all mad and like bruh at Logan when he said I have decided not to join the BSC I felt awkward because if I were in Mary Annes shoes I would be a little like we welcomed you and you were all excited and now you say no, and then when Logan say would you like to go to the dance with me I would be like seriously! You could have just said that. On the other hand since Mary Anne has a crush I would be like aww really this day couldn’t get any better.

 I infer Mary Anne feels like this is the best day ever. I think on the one hand she feels like a little bit like laughing through pain that Logan isn’t joining the BSC, but on the other hand she is screaming on the inside because Logan asked her to the dance.

Marrie Anne is nervous because she is asking Logan if he wants to be in the club.  She is nervous because she likes him and she doesn't want it to be very awkward.  And logan said no and he asked her if she wanted to go to the dance with him and MA, she said yes and she gets red in the face.

I would feel the same way as MA but I will never feel like that because i am a boy.  I think that marrie Anne did a really good job of not making it as awkward as she thought it would be.  To further explain she was like very nervous because she liked logan and she did not want it to be weird.

I think that marrie anne fells kind of weird because he said no to join the club but he asked her out to the dance.  To further explain I think that having pressure on your shoulders and especially when you are calling your friends it is weird

For math today, we focused on putting in the grind on Dreambox, and partake in some virtual lessons that deals with creating, adding, and subtracting fractions! And oh yes, your E-8er should be putting in 10-15 of grind time on Dreambox each day, on top of what we're doing in class! Sounds like an appropriate activity to do during 15 minutes of one's Independent Choice Time....

If you haven't noticed, we do try to do 3-4 assignments per day, mostly just 3 assignments a day, but at times, 4 assignments a day....

Today's in-class assignments were revising what we have so far in our persuasive speech (that's due this Friday), giving a summary an inference after listening to Baby-Sitters Club being read aloud, and putting in some minutes and accomplishing some assigned lessons on Dreambox (Which some students did not when given the work time).

What We Were Up To Today!

Hey Folks!

This is what we've been up to today...

 on the weekend we did so much .

  on sunday we did a lot of games let me tell you about it . on sunday the first game we played was before the super bowl , the game we played was cro-ca . cro-ca is a really fun game where you have a mallet tipe thing , and you swing it at balls then you have to get it through hoop things . anyway it was really fun and ***** won . then the second game we played was settlers of catan that was during the game ( it is a board game ) . you play settlers of catan by rolling dice getting recourses and building stuff to get points , when you have 10 points you won . the last game we played was at the very end of the super bowl , the last game we played was poker . to further explain in poker you have to gather tokens and when you have all the tokens and when someone has no tokens they are out .

What i did over the weekend i did a lot but it was also fun if you want to find out why then keep on reading .

         Lets start with Saturday .I woke up and it was so cold so i went to the other room and went back to sleep.Then i went to my grandparent's room we talked and then i went down stairs and maid a smoothie .It was supper good and i drank it all up .Then it as time to go to PANDORA to pick up a ring for my cousin because it was her BIRTHDAY she is supper cool and she turned 16 .I also have a matching one but it is rose gold ( my favorit color ) and hers was sillver .Then we got mexican food it was so good .There was like this pina colada thing and it was so good.After that we went to our bakery and we got 2 cupcakes a apple pie one and i funfetie one.After that we were headed to my cousins house .When we got there she oppend gifts and then she changed because she was still in her pj's. While she changed i played video games and the controller had like i don't even now but say you were on a rocky cliff or a sand storm it would like vibrate .There was like a hights thing and and i fell because i am afraid pf hights even in a video game.You should have seen TRY my put the star on the christmas tree .Any hoo after that we drove in her car and got boba's for ever one .She is a prety good driver for a 16 year old.When we got home we drank our drinks and i got like an orange thing it was so good.Then we sadly left.

           Next Sunday .All i did was i tried to get ***** to watch the puppy bowl but he didn't want to he was only interested in his toy .we also had nice food it was supper good and it was all ***** wanted there was even cats on the TV for goodness sake but all he wanted was a caret so my mom gave him a carret so he was happy.Then the saddes't thing happend .When my mom went to pet ***** he barked and bit her .Then we noticed that his right hip was like puffy and i got scared.when ever you triyto touch it he will bite you . Well lets bring some good news ...we are giving ***** puppy party his real birthday is on a Monday so the party is gonna be on a Saturday .There will be a puppy balloon and there will be dog and human food.

   So that is what i did over the weekend it was boring on Sunday but Saturday was pretty  cool.

Woke up to stretch my arms and legs while I rubbed my eyes and plopped back onto my bed with a sigh, then slightly closed my eyes. Ding! I quickly sat up and checked the time, hoping that I didn’t oversleep.

        Click, vroom vroom,skert, ding dong!, creek, “ Hey let’s make curly flowers!” I said tugging both of my cousin’s excitedly. I danced in the hallway knowing that my room was a huge mess. While spinning very dangerous scissors on my finger I held a whole box of crayons and placed them onto the soft carpet in my room near my chair that was pulled into my desk. My younger cousin was a total master at making curly flowers well, because it’s very simple and she made them up at her own house .So she explained very thoroughly,  get a piece of paper, any color  and roll it up till it reaches the end of the paper and looks like a tube where you can put your finger through it. Then reach to get a pear of scissors and cut small circle pieces and take the middle of the swirl and pull it high up and there you have a beautiful curly noodle, flower, swirl or you can call it a hair clip.

On the weekend I had a lot of fun and I did something that I wanted to do all of corona…

On Saturday I saw ***** because her mom had a doctor's appointment. So when she was here we first did painting protects, which were spin art and a Valentines one. Then we went inside (with masks) and played with my toys like shopkins, calico critters, and magic clips and it was so much fun. After we did that we went on the lawn and played badminton until her mom came. When her mom came in the backyard with CHICK FIL A and LEMONADE, I haven’t had chick fil a since summer and I missed it so much and ***** of course. When we finished we went back inside and played more while the parents and my sister talked. We played songs on Alexa, played monopoly, and played magic clips. It was the best play date I could imagine during corona times.

So ho was your weekend welll this is my weekend and I really think the sun was fantastic.

Ok I think this was awsome to have sun beacuse you may not belive me cause I told no one but my cousin's but i went to tahoe two week's ago butI wont explain it cause it was two week's ago but this was a random sub topic on to the real one's.

ok this weekend I played a lot with my sibling's mainly my sister we like to play video games out side game's to further explane like in side we like to play video games one of are favorite's are roblox but we played like funny small game's this time and i forgot what we did outside but my family where't the only people I played with I played my frein's to we mainly talked about thing's and that's maily did and this whole time I eather had the door open to get that elagent sun.

but i also went to my grandma's house we went earlyer then normale beacuse my dad and my grampa wanted to watch the super bowl the reason is they love foot ball to further explane when ever we go to our gramparent's house they watch foot ball they don't love it o much that would rather watch it then do any thing else but I hate well hate is a strong word I dislike how hafe the time we only watch foot ball at lest during dinner and after dinner there is no football.

Who are we we are people so why are we treated diffrent we should fight back for are lives whos with me  this place is bad for us let you tell you. Not all of us know how to read and l think it is good to read they teach nothing but thing they need from us. Are chilldren should not have to deal with this some are born here why do we let them fell the pain the pain of having to be here like us they should not be here they have not got to learn the thing you need to do in the wild they have not been free we were free once they were not.  We do get food but it is nasty but what can eat then they should give us diffrent foods . There are sickness that we can get will kill us they have kill most of us l don't want small pocks do no you don't  here are some signs that tell you you have it  l will tell you one of the sign  is  high fever how do l know this because  l have been in the rooms with people who had it . We  have to practice are  tradition secret so we do not get wipt we revolted once in 1781 we can do it again they taught us how to make thing let use it to fight. They work us hard and bet make us pray and  l don't think god wipt people do you no he did not whip people us so who with me lets  fight.

         I don't want to be here any  more then you do you see are people have the time of there live no they are not do you see wild  animals out there no you don't the only see farm animals the land is being taken up by the animals the farm animals not the wild animals. Are we getting paid for are hard work no we are not we work and eat all day long no time for fun eat the same thing every day who wants to live like this not me that is what l should hear say it with me " not me not me not me." So who with me lets fight back!!!!!!!

WE CONTROL OUR LIVES! the Spaniards should not be able to control our lives, we must fight for our lives. Do you want to see people barf? No, I didn't think,  do you want to be forced to practice  a different language? NO! I thought so. We must have freedom or else our lives will suck and we will live in eternal slavery. “I have a dream today” that we will get revenge. WE SHALL BREAK FREE! We need to break free b/c imagine the countryside before the missions and controlling your own lives yeah i see you smiling, we should REVOLT.

One reason we should revolt is because we are continuously forced to pray, do you want that? NO! I didn’t think so, do you want to not be able to use our language and forced to do this weird language? NO! Do you want to have our culture taken away? NO! So you see you said it yourself. Fight our we shall never have peace nor shall we ever have fun so REVOLT!

Another reason we should revolt is that they are destroying our land. Do you see any cows or deers and animals huh? NO! I expected so, do you see any wild crops growing? NO! Yeah they are destroying our land we need to revolt. Just imagine a country side and seeing wild animals roam and seeing wild crops grow. I see you smiling and looking happy we shall REVOLT!

In this scene, Logan is feeling blank because he is debating over saying that your smile is nice or should he not, he all of a sudden said it and his mind went blank, I think he was panicking trying to explain to himself what happened.  I think he feels like he should not have said that but is also trying to make a better relationship because he wants to have MA know how he feels.  To further explain, he might have a tiny crush on MA and I think MA does have a crush on him too.

        Mary Anne is smiling because she is happy that Logan is trying to get her to have a bigger relationship and that is pretty much what Mary Anne wants, to further explain, at first she mistaken him with the celebrity crush in the comic which means she has a crush on him.  That's gonna make Claudia so annoying to Mary Anne and get her all cringy.

         I felt cringy in this scene to further explain, this the 3rd time they meet and they are already trying to get her to fall in love, If I could I would change this book up so none of this gross romance goes on ever and it will be JUST A FRIENDSHIP.  Also don’t even get me started on how Claudia is going to feel about all this crush stuff.

In this scene,  Logan is feeling kinda cringy  because he doesn't really know what to say to Mary Anne for example, he's trying to say something nice to her but he kinda makes it like a bit awkward like he said that she has a nice smile but like it's just like words to say at that point it and all he could really come up with was to say that she has a nice smile. And like is feeling very nervous at that point cuz he doesn't want Mary Anne to like dislike him but he can't tell that Mary Anne likes him like it's a lot of mixed feelings right now so on this scene I can infer that they're going to be together later in the book. So when I was reading this I felt like they should really be together and say their feelings because people should never really hold back what they really want and desire and said the parts were a bit cringy but I really ship them together and I hope soon their ship will sail.

          In the scene, where Mary An and Logan were walking home from babysitting and they were both talking about there babysitting job, I feel like Mary An was feeling joyful and delighted when Logan said that he liked the tumbling and leaning part of Mary An accidentally fell on Logan because In the backstory Mary An had already had a crushy crush on Logan and was staring and glaring at Logan last time when they were having lunch and talking about the baby sitters club. And also Mary An thinks Logan looks like a famous actor that she has a poster of in her locker which that she adores, which that means she really likes Logan and also because of the blushing and stummbling on her words while she was talking to Logan.

          In this specific scene Logan stumbles on some of his words and I think that Logan likes Mary-Anne cause who would just say somebody's smile is pretty for no reason? And if I were in Mary-Anne’s shoes I would feel awkward and also I would be thinking OMG does he ACTUALLY think my smile is pretty? Or did it just come out of his mouth OMG OMG OMG- Plus Mary-Anne had a crush on him so I can feel that just one complement from him means a lot to her. This situation is also awkward because Mary-Anne probably doesn’t want to show that she likes him but it's also hard to keep a straight face without blushing.

          In my opinion I also don’t know what’s the big deal with love stuff and why everybody thinks it’s a “ew” situation. Like when you grow up you won’t find that stuff ew. I also think it’s funny to watch them stumble and also not knowing both of them have the same feeling that they want to be more than just “Friends”. Oh you know what I mean like a couple?

What We've Been Up To!

 Howdy Folks,

This is What We've Been Up To This Week on The E-8 LiveStream:

1. First I subtracted 1 from the whole number (3) which gave me a total of 2 (3-1 =2)

2. Next I added the numerator and denominator together so I could get a bigger fraction than 1 & 3/4, I got a total of 2 & 6/8

3. After that I put together the equation: 2 & 8/4 - 1 & 3/4 

4. I subtracted the 2 whole numbers first ( 2-1) and got a total of 1. Then I subtracted the numerators ( 8 - 3) and get a total of 5

5. I kept the denominator the same (4) and the total fraction was 1 & 5/4, I noticed that the numerator was bigger than the denominator so I had to make it a proper fraction.

6. There are 1 fours in 5 so I put 1 as whole number and then there would be 1 remaning so I put 1 over 4 and kept the denominator the same.

7. the answer was 1 & 1/4'

1.  First I noticed that I can't subtract 3 fourth's from 1 fourth, so I re-group 1 fourth into 4 4's and if you add the 1 fourth it gets you 5 fourth's.

2.  And i can subtract 3 fourth's from five fourth's so know we have 2 wholes and 1 whole so i subtract 1 whole from 2 wholes and there is 1 whole left.

3.  So since i have my 2 fourth's and one whole the answer is 1 whole and 2 fourth's.

1. Look at the equation, the numbers, 3,1,4,1,3 and 4 are in this equation. But wait, there's strange lines and there's three of them. So I wonder what it means. I went back to my memory and see a familiar sign it's called the subtraction sign but I was still wondering what type of lines were underneath the numbers, 1 and 3. Right on the spot, those strange floating numbers are called fractions. F-r-a-c-t-i-o-n-s.  And what you do with fractions are just like any other number! For example, take 4-1=3  and then 4 1/3 - 1  there almost the same but except more numbers to subtract or add up. 

2. Like any other equation,  start with the first number in front. 3  1/4. There's a minus sign smack right in the middle so we know to minus because when there's a tiny bitty line it always means to minus it's called the subtraction sign. And now we have our second number or can I say fraction, 1  3/4. Hand in front, and cover the fraction. Now the only numbers we see are 3 and 1 and the minus sign in between the two numbers. 3-1=2.

3. Now we have the numbers 1/4 and 3/4 and the minus sign in between. I have a numerator and a denominator. Denominator means the lower, down number and you're not supposed to add the numerator or subtract or multiply and divide because you would get a nonsense number that wouldn't make sense at all so this is a number one rule never ever add, subtract, so on. You can definitely tell which ones the numerator now because since the denominator is on the lower down number then of course the numerator is on the higher number above. To further explain, you see there's a line in between the two numbers and one on the top is called the numerator and the number on the other side is called the denominator. Remember them by remembering that the denominator is the down lower number. We can get back to it now, so now what's left for us now is to minus our numbers and just remember to never subtract the denominator so we need to subtract the numerator. 3-1=2  

4. Let's put this equation together now. 3 1/4- 1 3/4= 1 2/4

'Mary Anne likes Logan because in the cafeteria scene Mary Anne thought that Logan was Cam Geary her crush. To further explain, she got a crush on Cam Geary but in the cafeteria when she was with her friends she saw a kid that looked like Cam Geary. I think that MA feels annoyed because her friends don’t really know her as a crush girl. She was a shy girl and didn’t talk much. Now she sounds and acts older. Plus now she has a crush on Logan because he looks like Cam Geary! ;)'

In the scene when MA and Dawn are walking home I think MA felt awkward because Dawn kept asking questions about MA crush she starts to get red, to further explain, she does not usually have crushes so this is a change which is making MA feel awkward.  Also this might be annoying to MA because she is going through changes about crushes and stuff so the fact that Dawn is bugging her is making her annoyed.

In the scene in the book ‘ Logan likes mary anne’ ,Mary anne saw a boy named logan bruno and mistaken him or her celebrity crush cam geary .

 When M.A saw Logan it made me cringe soo much ,which made me remember a time where i mistakened a boy.. For a celeb .THAT WAS EMBARRASSING.To be honest i've never seen M.A so  mesmerized by a boy,Just by that she's getting more mature.I am proud of M.A ,she was VERY shy and VERY timid.When m.a saw Logan i thought it was cam geary too to be honest.

'in the story BSC: Mary Anne Like Logan, there was a scene where she went into her new homeroom and she didn't know anybody there. this is a important scene because when something like that happens to you (especially since Marry-Anne is shy) you would feel awkward cause you don't know who to talk to. But luckily dawn just turned up late to the homeroom so Marry-Anne relived.

          I haven't exactly been in this kind of situation but I know what she feels like. Like when we switch grades I don't know who will be in my class and if some of my friends will be in my class either.'

'In the story BSC, Logan likes Mary An, there was a  scene where Mary An finally gets to her  home room and she noticed that she didn’t know anyone and none of her friends were not there yet.   

          I feel like Mary An is feeling super nervous and frightened and I bet that her palms were sweating rapidly while the inside of her is running crazy! To further explain, I know that Mary An is a shy person and doesn’t talk to herself she sometimes keeps to herself but she improves and speaks up a little more but I totally know how she feels, it’s the first day of school and once I was in a different class room with really new people and it was like I was in a whole new different world! I was holding a water bottle and guess what was hiding on my hand underneath my water bottle, it was juicy, watery sweat! So a feeling where your nervous, frighten, scared feelings are all common feelings on a brand new fresh start on your first day of school.

         I would put my shoes in Mary An’s shoes and my heart would singing a fast, fast, fast beats and I would exited on one hand but terribly horrified on the other hand. I do suppose I would be shaking a little but I would be alright still.  Mary An and I are sort of different but we would have the same feelings of the first day of school.'

'After watching the video, if i were in the Kumeyaay's shoes i would want to escape . I would want to do this so that i can go back to living my life how i did befor . Also i would want to escape because all they make me do is chores and clean .I would be lived and upset, because they took all of what i love away and i would be sad and misurable, because i have to do chores all the time i can't do anything fun like play with my friends and go do whater i want.

It also makes me lucky and greatfull , and that we can do whatever we want now but back then they couldn't do what ever they want.I feel bad because I understand they had to work but not all day .In presant time, at school you work and then you get recces or P.E.For the Kumeyaay they didn't get a P.E. or recces. Even on the weekends they still had to work and that is so sad .

Another thing  it makes me feel is  the spanish are mean because they treated them that way. I think they were jellios because  befor the indeans can do every thing all on there own and do it all by them selfs. So they were jelly that they had to hire people to do it when all they had to do is wake up one day and say " I want to go hunting today or make cloths today ".

Those are some reasons that i think that the life of the Kumayaay was unfair and not write.'

'Dude these Spaniards took over the lives of these California Indians. I would be LIVID and just so angry. I will tell you in this writing piece why I would feel this way. It would be very sad to live in this mission. We would have to do work non-stop.

The Kumeyaay people and other tribe people got whipped if they didn't do the work. They wouldn't go to a special room, they would be out in the open in front of everyone to be seen getting whipped. I would be terrified to not do work or speak my own language. They would get kid napped and if they chose to not do work they would get killed. I don't know how and I don't want to know how. They were abused because they would get whipped frequent and they had to sleep in a room with many people. This would mess with mental health if you see whippings every couple days. It would make you depressed to see your friends and people you know getting whipped. Getting kidnapped would also mess with your mental health because you just get swept away and then you do work and work over and over again.'

Wow... I did not realize that indigenous people were treated so vilantly. In the academic reasorce  brain pop it shows and tells me what happened to them and how it happened. I would be really mad and sad if I was at the missions.

I would be sad because I would not be able to go outside of the mission walls. When the missions took the kumaye from there natural habitat they were taking away there culture. To further explain The missions wanted to take there land so that the kumaye people turn to them and they turn them into there army. If they refused to be in the army they would be murdered, hurt and killed publicly.

The indigenous people were treated very badly back then...It makes me really mad. I mean, why did they have the right to treat the indigenous people bad? The indigenous people never did anything to the white Europeans! If I were in the Kumeyaay’s  shoes, then I would be so frustrated! 

....A lot of these things that I have named so far are things that would affect the Kumeyaay's health. Speaking of health, the Kumeyaay slept in a small room crammed with bunkers. There were about 50 people sleeping in there! Guess what? If one of the Kummeyaays got sick, then the rest got sick too. And back then, there was no cure for the small pox, the flue, and other sicknesses. And what makes me really mad is that if one of the indigenous people got sick, then the preest would just say "I'll just buy another one!" that makes me think that the CA indians were something that you could just go buy at Walmart, Target, Costco or any store that we could go to today.
