Today we started the day off discussing using the compensation strategy, and how it's an efficient way to add two numbers together:
We then took a break from math and headed to Mr. Volkar's music class. In his class, we combined our understanding of tones, with keys on a xylophone, and with note symbols too, to practice playing and singing the song Rocky Mountain!
We then get back to math and practiced using the compensation strategy to efficiently add two numbers together:
And afterward, we compared our work while peer correcting and worked out any discrepancies in our answers!
For Writer's Workshop today, we continued to work on writing strong leads; this time we focused on having a question as a lead to intrigue readers!
